Head Coach Will Walker: “Ethan Francom is truly one of the most inspirational runners I have ever coached. From the moment he joined the high school team he put everything he had into improving, pushing for varsity spots and grinding through pain and exhaustion with real grit and determination. His leadership made him an easy choice for Captain in his senior year, and he played a major role in helping our boys take second at the State Championship race.
“What makes Ethan stand out even more is that he excelled academically at the same high level as he competed on the course. He sets an example for others with his discipline in the classroom, and earning Academic All-State is a perfect reflection of the work ethic he shows in all parts of his life.
“Ethan is a natural leader, incredibly easygoing, and a true friend to everyone on the team. Although his presence and leadership will be greatly missed, I’m excited to see the amazing things he’ll accomplish in the future.”
