High school graduation ceremonies next week

The San Juan School District will award diplomas to more than 225 high school graduates from May 24 through 27 at services across the sprawling district.
The first high school graduation service is at Monticello High School at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, where 42 graduates are set to receive diplomas.
The Valedictorians of the class are Emma Peterson and Hannah Crowley and the Salutatorian is Tug Davis.
The guest speaker at the ceremony is Brad Bunker.
A total of 101 seniors are set to receive diplomas from San Juan High School at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 in the high school auditorium.
The number of students graduating with honors (grade point average of 3.9 or above and a college course in Math, Science, and English) totals 20.
San Juan High Teacher Camille Gappmayer is the guest speaker for the graduation service. Each graduate will receive six tickets and everyone in attendance must have a ticket. The graduation will also be live-streamed.
Eight graduates are set to receive diplomas from Navajo Mountain High School at their graduation services at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 26 in the high school gymnasium. 
The graduates include Valedictorian Shawnee Williams and Salutatorian Airavis Toledo. The guest speaker will be actor, comedian, and motivational speaker  Earnest Tsosie.
Monument Valley High School will present diplomas to 38 graduates on Friday, May 26 beginning at 2 p.m. in the gymnasium.
Top graduates include Valedictorian Sandra Benallie and Salutatorian Raemi Nez.
The featured speaker at the ceremony is former Arizona House of Representative and current First Lady of the Navajo Nation Jasmine Blackwater-Nygren.
The final graduation event of the year is at Whitehorse High School, where 40 students are set to receive diplomas. The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. on May 27. 
Students speaking at the graduation include Shelby Vasku, Malachi Johnson, Kirri Schaefer and Shania Mitchell.
The featured speaker is Language Arts teacher Matt Baldwin.
Additional promotion services are being held at other schools in the district. 
On Monday, May 22 events include Bluff Elementary promotion at 1:30 p.m., La Sal school promotion at 6 p.m. and Monument Valley 8th grade at 6 p.m. 
On Tuesday, May 22 Tse’Bii’Nidzisgai Elementary Kindergarten promotion is at 1 p.m., with Whitehorse 8th grade promotion at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, May 24, promotion for Montezuma Creek Elementary students is at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 25 promotions are at Monticello Elementary at 1 p.m. and at Tse’Bii’Nidzisgai Elementary at 1 p.m.
Friday, May 26 promotions include Blanding Elementary students at 8:30 a.m., with Albert R. Lyman Middle school at 9:30 a.m.
