Several San Juan County Schools are doing at-home learning Friday, October 23.

Several schools in the San Juan School District are doing at-home learning for Friday October 23.

Students at Bluff Elementary, Montezuma Creek Elementary, Whitehorse High School, Monument Valley High School, Tse'Bii'Nidzisgai Elementary School, and Navajo Mountain High School will be learning from home on Friday October 23.

In addition travel for some students in Blanding and Monticello are being impacted.

At home learning will also be implemented for students at Albert R Lyman Middle School and San Juan High School who ride the 104 (Natalie) or the 255 (Marty) bus lines.

Additional in Monticello schools the Rockland Ranch/Elk Meadows busses will only pick-up and drop-off at community turnoffs if families can safely travel there. Those that cannot should contact the schools for alternative arrangements.

Additionally the district says that any families concerned about the weather can contact their schools for excused absences.

This comes after multiple days of heavy rains in the county leading to flooding and washed out roads particularly in the southern part of San Juan County. Students in the southern district schools did at-home learning on Thursday October 22, with those schools also having an early release on Wednesday, October 21.
