Filing opens for election

Area residents will enter the voting booths on November 2 to select representatives for their communities. The registration period for candidates runs from July 1 to 15.
Three positions will be on the ballot for the Monticello City Council, including the positions currently held by Walter Bird, Scott Shakespeare and Scott Frost. Candidates can register at the Monticello City office.
Three positions will be on the ballot for the Blanding City Council, including the positions currently held by Kelly Laws, Joe B. Lyman and David Johnson. Candidates can register at the Blanding City office.
Three positions will be on the ballot for the Bluff Service Area Board of Trustees, including the positions currently held by Jackie Warren, Henry “Skip” Meier and Paul Dant. Candidates can register at the Bluff library.
