Full week of Fair events

The next few days will be full of fun as the San Juan County Fair culminates through August 14 at the county fairgrounds in Monticello.
“Cowboy Boots and Country Roots” is the theme of the annual fair, and there will be plenty of both at the fairgrounds.
Featured events for the fair include country music star Aaron Tippin in concert with Charley Jenkins on Thursday evening beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Local rodeos and youth rodeos will be the featured evening events on Friday and Saturday evenings, with both rodeos starting at 7 p.m.
The annual Junior Livestock and Mini Livestock auctions will be held on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. The auctions, which will feature steers, hogs, sheep and goats, culminates a summer of hard work by local youth.
An all-night softball tournament will begin on Friday evening and will end at about the time the Lions Club serve a free breakfast.
The featured events are just the beginning of a full slate of activities.
