George Wythe College sets date for groundbreaking ceremony

Over the last year, George Wythe College has nearly reached the maximum capacity at its Cedar City campus. Officials say that while it is an awesome experience to be on campus with these leadership-seeking students; as more and more students apply, they have fewer seats available for them. This will be a problem for future students.

But there is a solution—a second campus located in Monticello, Utah.

George Wythe officials do not yet have all of the answers regarding the relationship between these two campuses, but as they expand, they guarantee that students attending in Cedar City or Monticello can have the same great statesman building experience.

George Wythe has opened a fully functional office in Monticello and are currently holding year round extension classes there, as a build-up to a full on-campus program in 2009.

The GWC Student Ambassadors have been to Monticello twice. They just finished their first Campus Development Charrette (brain storming session) with a number of professionals in attendance including Brad Houston, the project Architect and his team; Steve Gilbert from Arcsitio Design, Inc. located is Salt Lake City and Marie Soundy from Arosemena and Soundy Arquitectos based in Panama.

They will be working hard to provide a fabulous campus in Monticello that compliments the current program in Cedar City. Part of that hard work includes a ground Breaking Ceremony at the Monticello campus site in August.

Celebrity Dian Thomas, a native of Monticello, will be the Grand Master of this event. All are invited to attend. Please plan part of your summer vacations around this world-changing event!
