Graduates set to receive diplomas at area schools

Diplomas will be presented to graduates of the San Juan School District at graduation ceremonies throughout the county.
In addition to services at the five high schools, commencement services will also be held at elementary and middle schools.
Graduation at Monticello High School will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23 in the high school auditorium. Thirty-six students will graduate, led by valedictorian Brayson Wilcox and salutatorian Alyssa Reeve.
KC Olson, the vice principal at Monticello High, is the guest speaker.

At least 106 graduates will receive diplomas at the San Juan High School graduation, which begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 in the high school auditorium. Trevor Olsen is the featured guest speaker.
Nine students are named summa cum laude graduates, including Kathryn Black, Connor Christensen, JC Clinger, Brooklyn Grover, Emily Hall, Samantha Jacobsen, Grange Simpson, Jaden Torgerson, and Jessica Walker

Monument Valley High School will present diplomas to 25 graduates in ceremonies beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 25.
The valedictorian is Crystal Stanley and the salutatorian is Tanin Carlson. The guest speakers are Howard Dee and Tommy Rock.

Whitehorse High School will present diplomas to more than 50 graduates at ceremonies beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 in the football field, weather permitting. The valedictorian and salutatorian had not been named as of the press deadline.
Nathan Brady will address the graduates.

The graduating class at Navajo Mountain High School includes eight seniors and two juniors who are graduating early. They will receive their diplomas at ceremonies beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 in the school gymnasium.
The valedictorian is Mikayla Chief. The featured speaker is Dr. Jill Jim, a Navajo Mountain High School graduate who has earned a doctorate.
The San Juan School District operates 12 schools and serves nearly 3,100 students in locations spread across San Juan County.
