Job Fair is Thursday for employers and workers

Employers and job seekers are encouraged to attend a Job Fair this week.
The free fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 at the Utah State University Arts and Events Center in Blanding.
Many local businesses report that they are experiencing a significant shortage of workers. The worker shortage is a challenge to many of the major employers in the county.
These employers are expected to have a strong presence at the job fair.
Jobs from all over San Juan County are available and employers will be on-site looking to hire people. Positions range from entry level to degree-required social workers (with a $5,000 signing bonus and additional $3/hr rural wage differential).
People looking for retail management and restaurant management won’t be disappointed, as they also have those positions available.
If you are looking for something seasonal, they have a variety of positions available at Lake Powell. Numerous positions are also available at Goulding’s in Monument Valley. Landscaping and general laborer positions are also available.
The event is hosted by San Juan Economic Development, along with the San Juan Chamber of Commerce, Department of Workforce Services, and the Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) program in San Juan County.
