San Juan County Surveyor
My name is Kent Cantrell, I am your incumbent County Surveyor and candidate for re-election in November of this year. Most of you know me as Sam, as this is the nickname I have gone by all my life. You will have to stop by or call my office to get the story behind that if you are curious.
It has been a privilege and pleasure to serve you and this great County for the last six years in my capacity as County Surveyor. We have accomplished many exciting projects in that time frame and are looking forward to more in the next four years.
Some people questioned why I would submit a profile when I am running unopposed in the election, like it would really matter or make a difference.
Quite simply, the reason is because your support for me is important, regardless of party affiliation or political leanings. Each of you deserve the best from your elected officials and I pledge to always give you the best I can.
I have been employed with the San Juan County Survey Department for 22 years now and have seen numerous changes in the field of surveying. Rapid advances in technology have made measuring and data management easier but one thing that has not changed is the good old fashioned research and “detective” work it takes to get to the bottom of most surveying issues. Sometimes this gets forgotten and seems to always result in problems. In my office we try our best to take this part of the profession very seriously.
So, whether I am running unopposed or facing competition from within or outside of our party it is important for you to know who I am and to let you know that you can contact me at any time with any questions or concerns you may have. I will always strive to do my best to protect the bona fide rights of the property owners of San Juan County!
I could not leave this profile without giving credit to and thanking my exceptional staff, they are the ones who do the tough work on the ground and are always going the extra mile. You guys are the best!
Thank you for your time and your anticipated support in the upcoming November 3 election!
Kent B. (Sam) Cantrell
