A new high-end resort is under construction at mile marker 53 on Highway 191, approximately a mile and a half north of Blanding.
‘The Look RV Resort’ is a project of Sage Innovations LLC, under the supervision of Jared Berrett. The resort is projected to open in the spring or early summer of 2025.
The 22 acre park is being built on land once owned by Genie Shumway.
The resort is named after Genie’s uranium mine, the “Look” and will have a mining theme as a nod to the rich mining history in the area.
‘The Look RV Resort’ will have something for everyone, with 18 cabins, six glamping sites, twelve tent sites, and 90 RV hookups with 53 pull thru sites and 37 back-in-sites.
The park will have a playground, a pickleball court, bath houses, laundry facilities for guests, and will be ADA accessible.
Twelve of the “miner’s” cabins are family cabins, hosting a full kitchen, a queen bed in a private room, bunkbeds in the main area, and a shared bathroom.
Each of the two sleeping spaces will have a TV and an AC unit.
The other six cabins will be king studios with one king-sized bed, a full kitchen, a bathroom, heat / air conditioning, and a TV.
The three-story main office building will have a 60 foot tower built to resemble a mining shaft and is slated to have a game room with a pool table, ping–pong, air hockey, and a few arcade games.
There will be an exercise room, an indoor swimming pool, and an outdoor hot tub.
A multi-purpose conference room may be rented for business meetings, family reunions and other events.
Future plans include a zip line from the platform on the mining shaft.
Located near Recapture Lake, this new getaway spot will allow guests to enjoy a beautiful view of Blue Mountain while visiting scenic San Juan County.
