Be Our Guest! A free community Thanksgiving Dinner with turkey, pie, and all the trimmings will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Hideout Community Center in Monticello and you’re all invited!
Thanksgiving is a time for feasting and friendship, yet it can be a difficult time for many. This heartfelt event, hosted by the Recovery Community support group, reminds us that no one should have to face the holidays alone.
If you don’t have other plans, join with others for this special Thanksgiving feast, where the gathering is not just to share a meal, but to highlight the importance of connection with people who care, supporting one another, sharing stories, and fostering hope.
Event organizer Gordon Kelley says it has been exciting and gratifying to watch the support for this dinner unfold as Utah Navajo Health Services, the Lions Club, High Desert Café, Atomic Blue Motor Inn, Blue Mountain Foods, Gustavo’s Restaurant, and multiple community members have come forward with donations and/or offers of food, money, time, and kitchen help.
Dinner hosts are planning for 150 guests, but would appreciate an RSVP from those who plan to attend. Interested parties who RSVP by November 22, 2024, will have their names put in for a drawing, but the doors are open to all, even without advance notice, so please come!
If you would like to RSVP, donate food, or offer help, please contact Kim at 435-419-0187 or Gordon at 435-419-0694 by November 22. Pies and dessert donations should be dropped off at the Hideout between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
