Easter events and services in San Juan County

The first Baptist Church on 5th North in Monticello Easter Sunday schedule will be a sunrise service at the Loyds Lake Pavilion at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast at the church at 8:30. Easter egg hunt for the kids at 9:45 and Sunday school at 9:45. Worship service is held at 11 a.m.

St Joseph Catholic church, 381 S Main St, Monticello holds Mass at 12 Noon every Sunday.

With several locations in the four corners area, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sunday Sacrament meetings are at 9 and 10:30 am generally. Locations and schedules can be found at churchofjesuschrist.org/locations. The La Sal Branch will have services Easter Sunday morning at 9 a.m. followed by brunch at 10.

San Juan Community Church (Evangelical) has a packed week starting Wednesday, April 13 with worship services at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Wilcox and worship leader Ruth Wilson Francisco. Services Thursday April 14 at 7 p.m. will feature Pastor Greg Liming with worship leader Brett Martin. Good Friday celebration is at 7 p.m. featuring musical guests Dove Creek First Baptist Choir and devotional by Josh Baird. Sunrise service with Gary Halls on Easter Sunday is 7 a.m. followed by breakfast. The Community Church weekly services include Sunday Bible Study at 10 a.m., worship lead by Gary Halls at 11 a.m. (Traditional/contemporary). Sunday evening features Josh Baird at 7 p.m. (contemporary). Tuesday bible study is lead by Larry Schultz at 7 p.m. The chapel is located at 217 East 200 South in Monticello and can be reached by email sjcommunitychurch21@gmail.com.

The National Honor Society of San Juan High School is putting on an Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday April 15 at the Centennial Park in Blanding beginning at 9 a.m. The Art Club is also sponsoring a Colorfest fundraising event there. Peep it Fun Run 5k starts at 8:30 a.m.

St. Christopher’s Mission in Bluff begins Holy Week with Maundy Thursday with outdoor Eucharist lead by Bp. Bailey at 5 p.m. April 14. Good Friday service and Stations of the Cross are at 5 p.m. on April 15. Holy Saturday service is at 9 a.m. on April 16. Easter Sunrise service overlooking the San Juan River is at 7 a.m. followed by Easter Festival Eucharist and Baptism at St. Christopher’s Mission in Bluff at 9 a.m. Easter Festival Eucharist and Baptism at St. John the Baptizer in Montezuma Creek begins at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Also Easter Festival Eucharist and Baptism at St. Mary of the Moonlight in Oljato is held at 11 a.m. Sunday. Father Joe says all are welcome.
