An exciting, new concert is coming to San Juan

An exciting, new concert is coming to San Juan County. A day-long country music festival will be starting this fall. Canyon Country Music Experience will be holding its first annual concert on September 15 in Blanding.
This event will feature four different county music artists and is promising to be an event worth attending.
The concert will be hosted, in part, to raise money for worthwhile causes in our community. This year, a portion of proceeds will go to support San Juan High School student activities. Signed guitars will also be auctioned off for other charities.
BlackHawk will headline the show. Just in case you have been living under a rock, BlackHawk is country rock band founded by Henry Paul, Van Stephenson, and Dave Robbins.
BlackHawk has sold only seven million albums, has 19 Billboard hits including, “Every Once an a While”, “There You Have It”, “I Sure Can Smell the Rain” and “I’m Not Strong Enough to Say No” which has over three million YouTube views.
After losing Stephenson to melanoma, BlackHawk continues to make make music saying, “We owe it to the music, we owe it to ourselves, and Van, and we owe it to the fans.”
BlackHawk’s most recent album was dropped in 2014 titled, “Brothers of the Southland”. They will be taking a big tour detour to visit San Juan County.
Joining BlackHawk, Canyon Country Music Experience will be adding James Otto and Ty Herndon to the lineup.
Otto is most popularly known for his single, “Just Got Started Lovin’ You” which topped country charts in 2008 and currently sits just shy of eight million views on YouTube.
Otto also brags Billboard hits of his own such as, “Shake What God Gave Ya” and “Sunset Man” which sat on the chart for 75 weeks and peaked at number two.
Herndon top charts with singles such as “I Want My Goodbye Back”, “Loved Too Much”, and “Hands of a Working Man.” But, many know him for “Living in a Moment.” Herndon’s most recent album, “House on Fire” was release in Nov of 2016.
CCME will also be welcoming Pat Swenson to their stage! Swenson is an LDS country artist who was nominated for New Best Utah Artist last year! His single, “Bleeding” was also nominated for single of the year.
These four artists are bound to put on an amazing show. Blanding Mayor, Joe B Lyman is putting the event together and is excited to make it an annual event.
The concert has been scheduled following the annual ATV Safari and will make a great end to those festivities.
Tickets will go on sale within the next month and VIP tickets will be able for those who really want the full experience.
