Preliminary figures in municipal elections
Preliminary vote count shows Kevin Dunn leading Bayley Hedglin in the race for Monticello mayor. Dunn has 166 votes so far, compared to 140 to Hedglin.
In the race for Monticello City Council, Shane Brewer and Todd Westcott have an early lead. Westcott has received 189 votes, Westcott has 187, while Tanner Holt has 135 votes and Pam Pearson-Fuller has 72 votes.
In Blanding, leaders for the two spots on the Blanding City Council are Chad Moses with 227 votes and Bret Hosler with 215 votes. Other candidates are Erik Grover with 170 votes and Jesse Grover with 169 votes.
Trevor Olsen has secured 355 votes in an uncontested race for Blanding Mayor.
There are still approximately 200 ballots to be counted across the various races, so none of the results are final. More results will be released tomorrow, with the final canvas on November 12.
Of the 2,390 ballots sent to voters in Monticello and Blanding, it looks like a little more than 1,000 completed ballots were returned. The results released tonight were all ballots that were submitted early.
Polling officials estimate that an additional 160 ballots were cast on election day. They will be included in future releases, in addition to contested, cured, and provisional ballots.
