Blanding Library will be hosting its third annual Pumpkin Carving contest. Award categories include Scariest, Silliest, Most Creative, and Best by Child 0-12 years. Pumpkins may be dropped off Wednesday, October 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Thursday, October 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Vote for your favorite pumpkin at the Blanding Library all day on Thursday October 30.
Make a Halloween craft from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. October 30.
For Dungeons and Dragons fans, Dungeons and Dragons games for Teens (ages 12 plus years) and Adults will be held at the Blanding Library, with a game for Beginners on Tuesday, November 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Experienced players will meet Wednesday October 29, and Tuesday December 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. both nights.
Character sheets and dice will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
Paint night for adults and teens will be Thursday, November 13, and Thursday, December 11. Paint night begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Blanding Library. Sign up is required, and there will be a maximum of 10 people per group.

Blanding Crochet Club will be held at the Blanding Library Thursday, November 20 at 6:00 pm. There will be no meeting in December. Craft Club Kids and Librarians at the Monticello Library send a heartfelt Thank You to those who have generously donated craft supplies, materials, or made other contributions to the Craft Club. Crafting materials are always welcome and appreciated.
Upcoming Craft Club activities at the Monticello Library include Miniature Halloween Scenes, Haunted Brownies, and Wizard Wands in October. November activities will be Owls, Autumn Wreaths, and Turkeys. Craft Club will not be held on Thursday, November 27, (Thanksgiving Day). Craft Club is held Thursdays after school from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
For Reluctant Readers and those who struggle with reading, the Monticello Library has companion books and audio CD’s so readers can read along with the book while listening to the audio. Those who don’t have access to a CD player may check one out from the library along with the books and audios. A variety of titles for children, teens, and adults can be enjoyed in this way.
