San Juan Credit Union awards scholarships
San Juan Credit Union recently held its 2024 scholarship contest. Each year graduating seniors from the five San Juan County high schools are invited to write an essay detailing what it means to live in San Juan County and how it has impacted their lives, in addition to academic and other requirements that need to be met.
The qualifying students’ essays are reviewed by a scholarship committee, and the winners are determined by those essays and letters of reference provided.
This year four recipients were awarded scholarships. San Juan Credit Union would like to commend these students for their hard work and dedication to excellence in their academic achievements.
Their essays were a delight to read, and show a deep love for this great county we live in. We wish them all the best in their future education, and anything they choose to do in life.
We also would like to recognize the parents and families that who supported these students in their education, and who encouraged them to do their very best.
Recipients were recognized at their high school’s end of year assembly; and were invited to attend a small event hosted at San Juan Credit Union in Blanding.
Remarks were given by Credit Union president Leah Lyman. San Juan Credit Union looks forward to hearing from the youth who will be shaping our county’s future each year and hopes to continue to provide this service to the community for many years to come.
This year’s recipients are Jemma Robison from Monticello High School, and Synessa Atcitty, Ally Shumway, and Kaylee Warren from San Juan High School. Congratulations to each of them, and to all the class of 2024.
