Long lost SJR friend found

Some investigative efforts (and a trip across the nation) has led to the discovery of a long lost friend of the San Juan Record. After a long absence from San Juan County, Gary Torres has surfaced in Washington, DC. Torres, a longtime contributor to the San Juan Record, is the deputy division chief for fluid minerals in the Oil and Gas Leasing department of the Bureau of Land Management in Washington, DC. Torres was the Area Director of the BLM in Farmington, NM for several years before taking his new position in the nation’s capitol. In order to retain our journalistic integrity, we have to say that Torres is a little more buttoned down now than many readers may remember. Courtesy photo
