Michael Tuckfield

Michael Tuckfield is the new principal of TES. He replaced Christy Fitzgerald, who moved to the district as the new director of the southern schools.

He previously served as the Assistant Principal at Monument Valley High School.

Tuckfield was born and raised in the Salt Lake City area. His wife, Katrina, is a Special Education teacher and was the one who inspired Michael to follow in his father’s footsteps to get into education.

He received his Special Education endorsement and teaching license through Utah State University and a Masters of Education in Administration from Southern Utah University.

Tuckfield has an interest in everything outdoors, especially diving (scuba, springboard, platform, and cliff).

He loves skiing and snowboarding and has done it all his life. But his greatest passion is watching his three kids grow and succeed in life.

Tuckfield’s philosophy on education is that all students can learn and achieve greatness.

He says, “It is our responsibility to give them the opportunity and education to reach the potential that they themselves often times don’t realize they have.

“The future lies with the school-age children of today and we have to provide quality education to build that future for all.”
