Elk Petroleum cleaning up spill from water transfer line

Elk Petroleum is cleaning up a spill from a water transfer line discovered on the morning of April 9.

The spill was reported to regulatory and tribal agencies, and impacted surface/grazing lessees were also contacted.

Elk reports the spill to be about 678 gallons of mostly produced water and a small amount of oil. Elk Petroleum also reported that the spill impacted surface soils and no water or major drainages were impacted. Clean up efforts began right away and are anticipated to be finished within a few days.
