Monticello Merc's grand reopening scheduled this weekend

Crews are completing work on a major overhaul of Monticello Merc in anticipation of a grand reopening this weekend. Under the direction of new owner Kevin Francom, the store has been expanded and extensively remodeled.
With more than 2,000 square feet of new inventory space, the process more than doubled the inventory and selection at the store. There are a number of entirely new sections, including animal feed, fencing, building materials, farm and ranch and more.
In addition, there is an extensive expansion of other sections, including sporting goods, fittings, metal works, paint, electrical, plumbing and much, much more. First established as a cooperative mercantile in 1892, the Monticello Mercantile is the oldest retail business in San Juan County.
The grand opening will feature great deals, lots of drawings, and the chance to register to win several grand prizes. The exterior of the building is also having a facelife, including new signage.
