Monticello WinterFest to feature food, fun, fare
Local businesses ask that residents consider shopping at home as part of the Monticello WinterFest Christmas event on Saturday, December 13.
Presented by the San Juan County Chamber of Commerce, the WinterFest will feature a number of fun activities.
The events begin with a pancake breakfast with Santa at R&F Restaurant from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $3.50 per child.
The Holiday Bazaar begins at 10 a.m. at the Monticello branch of the San Juan County Library.
Shop for friends, family or yourself from local artisans and crafters, as well as at the local Main and Center street businesses.
Have you seen the beautiful lights adorning the Pioneer Park? Join your friends and neighbors at 7 p.m. for a special Tree Lighting Ceremony, followed by a Live Nativity and hot chocolate.
The buildings at the back of the park will be decorated in order to have a small Christmas walk.
“We hope that we can help you get into the holiday spirit this year by attending the 2014 Monticello WinterFest!” said event organizer and Chamber Executive Director Bayley Heglin.
A growing body of evidence shows the tremendous impact that shopping at home can have. Local commerce helps create jobs, build needed community infrastructure, and strengthen communities and neighborhoods.
A series of holiday events in Blanding in the past week were well attended by local residents and visitors.
