Sound of Music at Monticello High

The Sound of Music will fill the air when Monticello High School presents the renowned musical on Saturday, November 4, with additional performances on Monday, Nov. 6 and Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Performances begin at 7:30 each evening for the three-day run with a cast of 20 students.
The play is loosely based on a real-life story of the von Trapp Family Singers.
The music was composed by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein. The play was a Broadway hit.
Laili Dilts stars as Maria Ranier and Tyson Wheeler plays Captain von Trapp.
Leisl von Trapp is played by Coral Delorenzis and Rolf is played by Mason Atwood.
Other von Trapp children are played by Ryan Lewis, Maron Freestone, Carter Francom, Alexis Bailey, Brad Doel, and Remi Freestone.
Mother Abbess is played by Marah Long, Sister Berthe played by Dani Black, and Sister Margaretta played by Tessa Slade.
Other members of the cast are Kenlee Atwood, McCay Nielson, Caleb Coleman, David Francom, Emma Wheeler, Kaitlynn Gillette, and Evan Carpenter. Autumn Hall on spotlight.
Directors are Paige Freestone, Cheryl Wheeler, and Lynda Boyle, choreography by Wheeler, Freestone, and Dilts, and voice lessons by Freestone, Jake Palmer, and Trevor Shepherd.
Costuming for is by Cheryl Wheeler, Robin Ramsay, Eula Beeson, and Linda Lewis, with set design by Stenson Freestone, mountain mural by Kaylin Jones, and artwork by Shari Griffin and the MHS art students.
