Native Club earns Song and Dance awards

On January 28, a group from the San Juan High School Blue Mountain Native Club boarded a bus to venture off to the 36th annual Rock Point Dine’ Song and Dance Festival, placing in four of  five events. 

Winning second place in the Fire Dance are Dillon Seely, Renisha Joe, Tya Manygoats, Brittany James, Melanie Begaye, Creedence Sampson, Micah Daniels and Keosha Benally. 

First place winners in the Duet Contest are Dillon Seely and Renisha Joe.  The third place Solo Singer is Brittany James, and the 2nd place winners in the Nidaa’ Dances are Dillon Seely, Cheryl Keith, Jeremy Taylor, Audrey Luttrell, David Blackhorse, Renisha Joe, Tya Manygoats, Brittany James, and Shandiin John.
