Alan "Lynn" Jackson Throws Hat into the Ring for Utah House District 69

Native Utahn with 40 Years of Public Lands Experience Aims to Champion Rural Issues
In a bid to represent the interests of Utah House District 69, Alan "Lynn" Jackson, a seasoned Utahn with a multi-faceted career deeply rooted in public lands, has officially announced his candidacy. Jackson, a Utah State alum and Grand County resident for the past 40 years, brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to preserving the unique character of the region.
Starting his professional journey as a geologist, Jackson spent 32 years at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), culminating in his role as Associate Manager before retiring in 2010. Over the past 13 years, he has served as a mining/public lands consultant across the western United States. These experiences have given him a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the Garfield, Kane, San Juan, Grand, Emery, and Wayne County areas.
A Local with a Heart for the Community:
Jackson's roots run deep in Sanpete County, and his family has played a crucial role in his personal and professional life. Married to Kathryn Guymon Jackson, also with deep generational roots in southern Utah, the couple has three daughters, seven grandchildren, and a home that's never without the company of two to six dogs. His dedication to the community has been evident in his previous roles as Grand County Commissioner from 2013 to 2016 and his current position as the Grand County Republican Party Chair. Additionally, he was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Utah Energy Infrastructure Authority Board in 2016.
A Call to Action Against Federal Overreach:
Having spent decades witnessing the impact of federal decisions on local communities, Jackson vows to fight against federal overreach, emphasizing the importance of maintaining local autonomy. "Our federal lands are not just world-class landscapes; they are the economic lifeline of our communities," he stated.
Key Issues at the Forefront:
Key positions on issues crucial to the district mark Jackson's campaign. From preserving access to motorized roads and trails to advocating for the transfer or direct management of federal lands to Utah, his platform is grounded in his extensive background in public lands.
On fiscal responsibility, Jackson pledges to be a wise steward of taxpayers' money and supports providing counties with flexibility in responsible spending of Transient Room Tax revenues. He also champions affordable housing, expanded occupational opportunities, and protecting Second Amendment rights.
"I am a dedicated Republican who will apply the principles of small government and family values to the needs of my district. I will fervently support and stand up for our conservative ideals." Jackson declared.
Join the Campaign:
As Jackson throws his hat into the political arena, he invites the citizens of the district to join him in shaping the future of Utah House District 69. For media inquiries and further information, visit www.lynnforhouse.com.
