Daily shuttle service from SLC area returns to San Juan County

Daily shuttle service between San Juan County and the Wasatch Front has returned to the area.

Salt Lake Express, the largest transportation company in the Intermountain region, has added a new route between Blanding and Salt Lake City.

The service includes two trips in each direction every day, with stops in Blanding, Monticello, Moab, Green River, Spanish Fork, Orem, the Salt Lake International Airport, and Salt Lake City.

Shuttles leave Blanding every morning at 3:30 and 9:40 a.m., with the shuttles arriving in Salt Lake City before 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Similarly, shuttles leave Salt Lake City daily at 10:10 a.m. and 4:25 p.m, with arrival in Blanding by 4:30 and 10:45 p.m.

There is currently no regular bus service directly connecting towns along the routes to metropolitan cities.

Salt Lake Express currently operates routes in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana, while also interlining with other carriers, including Greyhound and Trailways.

Within the Salt Lake Express system, travelers can travel to many locations, such as Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Reno, Boise, Logan, Rexburg, and Montana.

They offer routes to many getaway destinations including Moab, Jackson, Sun Valley, West Yellowstone, Park City, St. George, Las Vegas, and Reno.

The shuttle service, which began operations in 1994, has also started daily service between Vernal and Salt Lake City. The new route includes stops in Heber City, Duchesne, Roosevelt, and Vernal.

Kathy Pope, the regional relations director, said Salt Lake Express contracted with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to provide the service, with a three-year contract and an option for two more years.

“We are pleasantly surprised with the response to the new service in southeast Utah,” said Pope.
