Local pilot walks away from airplane crash

A local pilot walked away from the crash of a vintage bi-plane on September 13, approximately one mile south of the Monticello Airport. The plane went down soon after takeoff from the airport at about 11 a.m. A host of emergency response personnel arrived on the scene to assist. The pilot was transferred to San Juan Hospital. It appears as if the plane suffered significant damage.
