New statue of LDS Church President John Taylor dedicated at Bluff Fort

Nearly 500 people attended the dedication of a statue of LDS Church President John Taylor at the Bluff Fort on October 24. John Taylor was the third president of the LDS Church. Taylor issued the call to residents of southwest Utah to settle the San Juan frontier. After an arduous six-month trek through the Hole in the Rock country in 1880, exhausted settlers climbed San Juan Hill and settled Bluff.
