Paula Jean Coleman Lewis
April 6, 1947 ~ July 15, 2018
Paula Jean Coleman Lewis was born on April 6, 1947 in San Bernardino, CA to Bryce and Mary Coleman. She was the oldest of five children. Her siblings are Dianne, Deb, Bill, and Tim.
She graduated from Pacific High School in 1965.
After waiting for him to return from his LDS mission, she married her sweetheart, Kent Lewis, on November 11, 1966, in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have three daughters – Ann Marie, Debbie, and Sheri.
Paula worked in the accounting department of a law firm for many years, and in the late 1980’s, decided to finish her schooling. She attended Cal State San Bernardino before the family moved to Utah. She graduated with her degree in Elementary Education in 1991 from Utah State University.
She immediately received a job offer from San Juan School District and began teaching in Bluff later that year. She moved to Blanding Elementary a few years later, where she continued to teach until she retired.
She loved working with the kids who came through her classes.
She served faithfully in many callings in the LDS wards she lived in and loved to serve those around her. She loved music, scrapbooking, crocheting, writing short stories and poems, and spending time with her grandkids.
Paula passed away in her home on July 15, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Kent Lewis; two children, Debbie (Mike) Franklin, and Sheri (Teryl) Pugh; ten grandchildren; her sister, Deb; and her brother, Tim.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Bryce and Mary; sister, Dianne; brother, Bill; and daughter, Ann Marie.
Services were held Saturday, July 28 at the LDS Stake Center in Blanding, UT with interment at the Blanding cemetery.
