San Juan beats Beaver and Parowan in 2A South boys soccer contests in past week

It was a very productive past week for the San Juan High School boys soccer team. The Broncos won back-to-back 2A South Region games on Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24.
On Monday they opened the week at home against Beaver and got a very quick start with three goals in the first half. They added one tally in the second for a solid 4-0 final against the Beavers.
Jace Walker led the offensive attack with two goals in the win. Renton Cardall scored one goal and Nick Jones registered an assist.
San Juan attempted 21 shots in the game and got 13 of them on net. Wyatt Keith made a very impressive 27 saves, earning his first shutout of the season.
On the following day the Broncos hopped on a bus for a long road trip to Parowan. Again the boys got a great start with a goal in the first half, but this time the Rams answered to tie in the second half.
Regulation time expired with the score knotted at 1-1, but San Juan was able to pull out an exciting 2-1 road win with a goal in the overtime period.
Jace Walker and Renton Cardall were the goal scorers again for the Broncos. Wyatt Keith made 16 saves in the win. San Juan had 14 shots on goal as a team.
Keith stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced in the two games this past week. He is currently sixth in the state across all classifications with his 97 total saves on the season. He’s averaging 16.2 saves per game which is second in the state.
The Broncos are now 3-5 on the season after the wins this past week. They are one of the teams in the area that is actually taking Spring Break, so there are no games on the schedule this week.
San Juan will hit the pitch again on April 7 when they host the South Sevier Rams. They’ll travel to Enterprise on April 9 to take on the Wolves.
