Donald “Mark” Beeson January 26, 1935 ~ August 26, 2026
Donald “Mark” Beeson passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at his home in Moab, UT, surrounded by his family.
Donald “Mark” Beeson was born January 26, 1935, in Moab to Jack Clifton and Helen Murphy Beeson. Mark was the second of five children, JC Beeson, Helen Jo Youngblood, Ted and Lloyd Lee Beeson.
Mark attended school in Grand County, other than from ages 6-8, when he was in a hospital in Salt Lake City.
As a young man, Mark worked on a haying crew for the S&S cattle company in Indian Creek -- that’s where he got the bug for cowboying. Mark later cowboyed at Dubinky.
Mark married Ann Branscom. Two children, Chris and Gene Beeson, were born to this union.
Mark and Ann lived and worked at Pack Creek, for the M4 Ranch. He herded dudes for the Musselman family.
He later worked on the original Texas Gulf/Potash. He then followed the Dale Webb Corporation to Las Vegas where he helped build many hotels and worked at the Nevada Test Site.
The family later moved back to Moab, where he had a concrete business. In the early 1970’s, he went back to Indian Creek and the Dugout Ranch for the Redd’s.
Mark always had a special love for the Indian Creek area, as that is where his great-grandfather Joe Titus and family homesteaded.
Mark married Ann Anzini and from this marriage Adele AJ was born. Mark and Ann lived at the Dugout for a bit then moved back into Moab where Mark went to work for the Grand County School District in the maintenance department where he later retired.
After Ann died, he married Edith Muir and brought her son Robert Muir into his family.
Mark loved hunting, fishing and camping with family. He was a great camp cook and enjoyed Dutch oven cooking.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Helen, and siblings JC, Helen Jo, and Lloyd Lee.
He is survived by his brother Ted Beeson, children Chris, Gene, AJ, and Robert, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 4, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Grand Valley Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
