Amador Ernie Montano September 21, 1954 ~ December 24, 2022

Amador (Ernie) Montano 68, beloved brother, uncle and friend, passed away on December 24, 2022.
He was born in Monticello Utah on September 21, 1954 to Ignacio Montano and Margaret Sanchez. He was the third oldest of ten kids.
Ernie attended his school years in Blanding, wrestled in high school for four years and graduated in 1974.
Ernie was a hard worker and loved working for one of his best friends and mentor Preston Nielson, roping and branding cows.
He later worked and retired as a crossing guard at Blanding Elementary School for more than 20 years and received several awards from the city.
He met lots of people throughout those years and enjoyed visiting with everyone.
Ernie was never married and had no children of his own.
He will be missed by all who knew him. 
Ernie is survived by his four sisters, Viola Montano of Blanding, Mary Montano of Farmington NM, Becky (Rosendo) Mata of Ogden UT, Lisa Montano of West Valley UT, and four brothers B. Sawd Montano of Blanding, Rick (Brenda) Montano of Blanding, Jake (Ruby) Montano of Blanding, Albert Montano of Montrose CO, and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister Martha Brawley of Charlotte NC, one niece and one great niece. 
Services were held January 3, 2023 at the Blanding North Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Burial was in the Blanding City Cemetery.
A special thank you to Dr. Val Jones and all of Ernie’s nurses who cared for him, the nursing home staff, Danny Palmer, and everyone who traveled to Blanding in snowy conditions.
