Barbara June Harris

May 23, 1940 ~ December 24, 2015
Oliver (Ollie) Harris, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are saddened by the passing of the beautiful Barbara June Harris.
She was born May 23, 1940 and lost her battle with liver cancer on December 24, 2015 at the age of 75. Her last days were spent with her family.
After years of taking care of them, the family was able to take care of Barbara.
Her grandchildren knew her as Gammy. They all adored their grandmother.
She was a devoted wife and caring mother. As a mother she taught her children compassion, service and a love of music.
She enjoyed quilting, cooking, her family, and was always busy doing something productive. Barbara worked at different times throughout her life as a dental assistant and shared her love of family with several foster children, including Sheila Jones.
She loved and enjoyed serving in her numerous church callings, especially Primary.
Barbara was born in Delta, UT, but spent most of her childhood in Red Mesa, CO and graduated from Durango High School in 1958.
Barbara was married to the love of her life on December 20, 1962, in the Mesa Arizona Temple.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, three sons, and five daughters: Chrishawn (Michael) Acton, Terri (Eric) Christensen, Joaquin (Katherine), Doyle (Ileana), Joleen (Keith) Kartchner, Stefani (Sean) Hunsaker, Alicia (Kip) Hunsaker, Orrin (Dana), 37 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.
She has five sisters: Diana Thimmes, Janette (Randy) Harris, Shawna (Ron) Azbill, Sheryl (Wes) Willis, and Cindy (Merle) Whitaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Raymond and Ione Slade Lee, sister Margaret Shirley, and brothers Wallace and Russell.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Blanding, UT. Interment followed at the Blanding City Cemetery.
