Barbara Teresa Palerme

June 28, 1944 ~ January 30, 2015
Our beloved mother, Barbara Teresa Palerme, died peacefully January 30, 2015 in Provo, UT at the age of 70. She was living in Nephi, UT with her daughter, Monica, for the past six years.
Barbara was born on June 28 1944 in Los Brazos, NM to Jose Ramone Martinez and Azucena Trujillo. She moved from Chama, NM to Monticello, UT as a young child in the mid 1950’s and resided there until she moved in with her daughter due to her health.
She married Auguste Palerme, the love of her life, in 1981. They stayed in Monticello to raise her sister, who she loved as a daughter, and five children. She worked several jobs to help support them.
Barbara was a kind, loving, and generous person who knew no strangers and helped all when needed. She was passionate in her service to the Lord, a fact anyone quickly learned when meeting her. She had a heart larger than life and so loving and caring to all.
Mom was a devout Catholic who brought her children up in the faith. She lived at the rectory of St. Joseph Catholic Church for several years as the caretaker and was the Director of Religious Education, which she loved and was so passionate about.
Barbara is survived by her children; Suzie (Thomas) Mendez of Indiantown, FL; Tony (Julie) Martinez of Monticello, UT; Bernadette (Lucio) Regalado of Monticello; Monica (Richard) Higgins of Nephi UT; Gloria (Kerry) Sallee of Monticello. Siblings Al (Sally) Martinez, Louie (Virginia) Martinez, Robert (Marie) Martinez, Josie (Mike deceased) Torres, Barbara Moreno who she raised as a daughter, 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
