Boyd John Laws April 27, 1953 ~ March 24, 2025

Boyd John Laws passed away peacefully at his family ranch on Mustang on March 24, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born on April 27, 1953, in Monticello, UT to Harry and Marva Laws.
Boyd was known for his loving, kind, and friendly nature, which endeared him to all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. Boyd never met a stranger, and had the rare ability to make everyone feel at home. His warm presence and easy smile were a source of comfort to all.
Boyd grew up in Blanding, where his passion for the outdoors, sports, and ranch life began to grow and continued to increase throughout his life.
After graduating from San Juan High School, he attended Utah State University. While attending school, he returned home to marry his high school sweet heart Sandy Palmer.
After completing his education, Boyd returned to his roots and dedicated his life to managing the family ranch and working for the San Juan County Road Department.
While Boyd's professional life was filled with accomplishments, he also was blessed with the opportunity to serve in various Church callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, such as a Bishop in his home ward and a member of the Stake High Council.
Despite his dedicated service to his ward, stake and community, it was his role as a family man that was cherished most. A devoted husband to Sandy, Boyd was a pillar of strength and love in their marriage.
He was a guiding light to his children, Mindy, John, Jayleen, Donny and their dedicated spouses, instilling in them values of kindness and respect that they carry with them to this day.
Boyd was an avid sports fan. He could often be found at various sporting events cheering on his family. His love for guns, hunting, and the great outdoors was more than a hobby; it was a way of life that Boyd embraced wholeheartedly. He passed this on to his children and grandchildren.
Boyd’s hands were as calloused as his heart was soft. He loved tinkering around and working with his hands. His hands were rarely still, as he could often be found playing cards, solving a challenging puzzle or fixing something around the ranch.
This love of problem-solving was a trait that Boyd applied to all areas of his life, approaching each challenge with patience and a smile.
To say that Boyd was a loving father is an understatement; he was also a doting grandfather and great-grandfather. His legacy is evident in the laughter and joy that fill the rooms of his home when his family gathered.
Boyd's passing leaves a void in the lives of all those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. His warmth, generosity, and the countless moments of joy he brought into our lives will be remembered and treasured forever.
Boyd's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of community. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take solace in knowing that his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
Boyd John Laws was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Harry and Marva, sisters LouAnn Grover and Marlene Keylon, and brother Robert Laws.
He is survived by his wife Sandy and children Mindy (Charlie) Taylor, John (Natani) Laws, Jayleen (Jason) Torgerson, Donny (Jenny) Laws, 15 grandkids, and two great grandkids.
