Caleb Gene Martin October 21, 2004 ~ January 3, 2026

Caleb Gene Martin, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 3, 2026 in Gallup, NM.
Born on October 21, 2004, in Concord, MA —just ten minutes after his twin sister—Caleb’s life was a radiant gift to all who knew him.
His sudden departure leaves his parents, David and Jennah Martin, his five siblings, and countless family members and friends deeply saddened, yet profoundly grateful for the joy he brought into their lives.
Caleb was known for his unforgettable bear hugs, enthusiastic high fives, and his genuine love for people. His happiness was measured by the happiness of those around him, and he carried an unwavering ability to make others feel seen, valued, and loved.
If you knew Caleb, you were his friend. If you thought you were his favorite person, you were right—because he made everyone feel that way. He lived with a heart wide open, prioritizing people above all else.
Caleb was a curious soul who delighted in collecting knives, watches, and unusual rocks. During his mission, his fascination expanded to Navajo jewelry and accessories.
Long before that, his family often teased him about the limits of how much “bling”—knives included—he could wear, and where he could get away with wearing it, especially in places like airports or church buildings.
His greatest achievement was serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Farmington, New Mexico mission.
Becoming a missionary was his lifelong dream, and he embraced it with the same passion he brought to every aspect of his life. His love for people, service, and the gospel of Jesus Christ was natural and unwavering.
Caleb’s hobbies reflected his vibrant spirit and zest for life. He sang whenever he had the chance, cherishing the moment he earned a solo in the Utah Valley Children’s Choir.
He loved to run and spent a year on Salem High School’s track team, convinced he was fast enough to outrun a bear.
Basketball was another passion, whether in the backyard or on city teams, where he constantly worked to improve his shot.
Pickleball brought him joy whenever he could play with friends or family, and he delighted in practicing trampoline tricks, always striving to perfect his backflip and other daring moves.
Though reading only captured his attention when the mood struck, he enjoyed that too. Overall, Caleb preferred to spend his time moving, serving, or singing, always channeling his energy into the things and people he loved most.
Caleb is survived by his siblings Jesse David Martin, Brielle Marie Martin, Paige JC Martin, Kylee Mae Martin, and Eryn Ann Martin, his parents Jennah and David Martin, and grandparents Jay and JoAnn Crowther.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Frank Edward Martin, Kathleen Bott Martin, and Rebecca Lois Starke Crowther.
Caleb’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and light. He leaves behind a world brighter for his presence and a family and community forever blessed by his example of kindness and faith. His bear hugs, high fives, and radiant smile will be remembered always.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17 at the Salem Stake Center in Salem, UT. Visitation begins at 9 a.m.
