Dale Allen Barrell, “Lefty”

Dale Allen Barrell, “Lefty”, 62 of Burlington, KS, passed away April 14, 2013 at his home.
He was born December 10, 1950 in Gunnison, CO, the son of Floyd and Mary Christine (Miller) Barrell.
The family moved to Montrose, CO and then to Monticello, UT, where Dale graduated from high school. He was a wrestler in high school. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
In 1982, Lefty and Sandra Knowles were married at Monticello. They are the parents of three daughters, Christina, Caron and Cheryl. They were later divorced.
Dale worked at Canyonlands National Park until failing health forced him to retire. In 1999, he moved to Osage City, KS. On November 13, 2001, he and Tricia Anna Foltz were married in Lyndon. They moved to Burlington in 2006. She preceded him in death in 2009.
Dale attended the House of Praise Community Church in Burlington.
He is also preceded by a brother, Darrald Barrell, and an infant sister.
He leaves his daughters, Christina (Danny) Elmore, of Burlington; Caron Barrell, of Coffeyville, KS; Cheryl Nicols, of Monticello, UT; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were April 22, 2013 in Burlington. Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery in Burlington. Memorial contributions may be made through www.jonescampbellfuneralhome.com
