Daniel J. Walker

April 12, 1951 ~ August 23, 2012
Daniel J. Walker, 61, long-time resident of Monticello, passed away peacefully at his home in Saratoga Springs on August 23, 2012.
Danny was born in Meadville, PA on April 12, 1951.
After high school, Danny enlisted in the Army, spending time as a member of the Military Police in Korea during the Viet Nam war.
Following his service to his country, Danny moved to Monticello, where he resided for 35 years. He was a beloved and vital member of the community. His final years were spent in Saratoga Springs, where he moved to be closer to family.
Danny married Rita L. McMann on June 11, 1971.
Danny possessed a generous nature and loved to tell a good joke. He always had a kind word for everyone.
Of all his attributes, one of his best was supporting his children and grandchildren. There was nothing within his power that he wouldn’t do for them.
As anyone who ever attended an event that one of them was participating in can attest, his enthusiasm was out there for everyone to see and hear.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Rita; two step-children, Linda and Marc; and three grandchildren, Camille, Laynie, and Sam.
There will be no public event to commemorate his passing. Per his request, the family will spread his ashes on his favorite place, the Blue Mountains. God Bless you, Grandpa. You’ll be missed.
