David Lynn Larson July 29, 1959 ~ November 5, 2022
Heaven received another soul on November 5, 2022 when Dave Larson arrived with his infectious laugh and booming voice. Dave was a Utah native living in Logan, UT during his younger years. He served his country in Hawaii in his early twenties. He had a zest for life and lived to the fullest. Dave loved creating art, mastering his skill in ink, sketching, and painting. He had many adventures in the Utah and Arizona deserts. He loved telling the story of the time, at Red River near Lake Powell, when he sunk his truck into the mud up to the bottom of the truck door. This calamity gave Dave and Tauna the chance to experience a two-day hike as they rescued themselves. He was an avid prospector, fisherman and hiker. He enjoyed hiking on the Blue Mountains, even when the fog was so thick that it was impossible to see. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs Truckstop, Duke, Coppers, Wink, Noodles, Crackers and Popcorn. He had a passion for trucking and was very proud of owning his first bright yellow cabover. He was a man of many ideas and plans. He enjoyed a good joke, had a sense of humor that was out of this world, and didn't mind making himself the butt of the joke if it would get a laugh. Always a fan of pranks, one year while celebrating Easter in Canyonlands, revenge was had when they hid his Easter basket in a bag, buried it 2 ft deep and parked a truck over it. Everyone sat back and laughed while he spent hours looking for it. He fancied himself a chef and really enjoyed cooking. He impressed family and friends with his skills in the kitchen. In the last few years of his life, he found a new challenge which was lawn mower tractor races. He took first in most of the races, due to his competitive yet friendly nature.
Dave had some incredible life-changing spiritual encounters where Christ touched his soul. Dave rarely shared those cherished experiences. Christ has been patiently waiting for Dave to catch up to his heart.
He is survived by Tauna Larson and her children Vint, Tobyn (Francyne), Kandee (Steve), Larque, Kemberli (Tyler), and Brooke. He was affectionately called Grandpa Squirrel by many step-grandchildren; Sunday, Braydn, Michael, Carly, Megan, Dani, Sayge, Ques, Cooper, Cameron, Cole, Zach, Mackay, Zaida, and Odette, as well as great-granddaughter Raya.
