Douglas Jackson Eldredge

August 3, 1938 ~ November 22, 2016
Douglas Jackson Eldredge was born on August 3, 1938 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the son of Andrew Jackson and Faye Knight Eldredge.  
Doug grew up in the Salt Lake area and attended local elementary and junior high schools. He graduated from West High School in 1956.
In the summer of 1957, he met Colleen Mecham. They dated for three and a half months and married on December 27. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints.
Doug and Colleen had five children, Susan Amber, Jackie Dee, Brad Douglas, Todd Anthony, and Richard Allen Eldredge.
Doug and his family lived in Granger, UT and Pocatello, ID and then settled in Monticello, UT, where they lived for 40 years.
Doug was an avid sports man. He loved football, baseball, and basketball. Doug played a lot of church basketball. He was a bowler, a hunter, a woodcutter, a softball pitcher, a referee for softball and baseball and an Eagle Scout.
He held many church jobs, as a member of the LDS Church. He held the priesthood, served on the High Council and served two missions with his wife, Colleen.
Doug had many friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. Doug and Colleen had a wonderful marriage. They were always together wherever they went, and it lasted 59 years.
Doug passed away on November 22, 2016 after several health issues with his heart and then pneumonia.
He is survived by his loving wife and children and their spouses Roy, Michael, Cyndi, Roxanne and Shelby, and 19 grandchildren, Jay J, Greg, Brice, Michael and Jared, Casen, Colten and Berlin, Jaclyn, Wade, Stormy and Cole, Mersadez, Swayzee and Isabell, Taj, L’Sha, Bronz and Baylr.  
He is also survived y his brothers Michael and wife Karen, Steve and wife Jan, sister Sharon and husband Don Goodin and great-grandchildren Jay J, Angel, Tristen, Wiley, Ricky, Axyl, Erix, Lexy, Gaige, Colby, Chloe, Jax, Jayce, Kaige, Keaton, Kennedy, Dak, Breck, Lyric, Ayslee, Asher.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 26. Doug will be sorely missed.
