Elaine Elsie Wright

December 27, 1935 ~ June 12, 2021

Elaine Elsie (Feinauer) Wright, age 85, passed away peacefully in Blanding, UT on June 12, 2021. She was born December 27, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Anna Rosa (Goeckeritz) and Albert Ernest Feinauer.

After a courtship that had its beginnings in 1950, she was married and sealed for eternity to her love, John Bevan Wright, on November 5, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Elaine led a challenging life in many ways but always found a way to overcome the obstacles and bumps along the way and focus her considerable energy on her many passions:

Faith: She was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities and organizations in the church throughout her life.

Elaine set the example that her family follows to this day.

Family: Elaine was a devoted, loving wife and often called upon to play the roles of both mother and father as her husband, serving in the USAF, was frequently away for extended periods of time.

She always ensured that the family’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs were met, sacrificing her time and talents as needed to do so.

Genealogy: She worked tirelessly to search out and find her ancestors and relatives, even when distant or difficult to identify. Elaine mastered the resources available to her, left no stone unturned, and was highly successful in linking family members together.

Music: Elaine was blessed with the voice of an angel and loved to sing, especially Christmas hymns. Elaine performed solos and also led, directed, and performed as a member of many choirs.

Food: She was an exceptional self-taught cook and perfected many delicious dishes in partnership with her husband. They were known for the meals they prepared, both for immediate family and often for very large groups.

She always made it a point to prepare her children’s favorite dishes when they came to visit.

Service: There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help someone in need, whether family, friend, or stranger.

Elaine and Bevan served three Church missions together at their own expense.

She blessed the lives of all those who knew her and always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Elaine was truly a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Elaine is survived by her best friend and husband, (John) Bevan; sons Steven Frank, Mark Feinauer, Michael Kerry, Jon Kalani; daughters Denise Bradford and Darlene D’Alessio; 29 grandchildren; 48 (and growing) great-grandchildren; sister Darlene (Duffin); and brother Ted.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard Albert and Wayne Owen, sister Verda Anna (Poyner), grandson Jason Bradford, and great-grandson Kyden Fife.
