Elmer Brigham Jones

July 25, 1919 ~ November 14, 2014
Elmer Jones passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2014.  He was born in Hunter, UT to Willard J. and Alice Warr Jones on July 25, 1919.
He graduated from Cyprus High School and attended Utah State University. He served his country in the Armed Forces.
He married Vilate Eastwood on February 29, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in Monticello, UT for 15 years and had built a new home just west of Summers Hotel. They sold it to Earl and Rae Randall when they moved to Salt Lake City.
Elmer served in many church callings including, a mission with his eternal companion to the Hartford, CT Mission, and as a Salt Lake Temple worker.
He was a member of the Mormon Battalion and served as National Battalion Commander for four years. This was his passion.
He is survived by his wife Vilate; four children, Richard (Claudia) Jones, Linda (Jerry) Miller, Brent (Rhonda) Jones and Annette (Morrie) Dunham; 15 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; three sisters Vernetta Sonderegger of Monticello, Marie Drown and Charlotte Anderson of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 and burial was at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.larkinmortuary.com.
