Elouise James Turner Cross

Elouise James Turner Cross was born June 4, 1928 to Samuel and Mille Palmer at the Day School in Bayfield, CO. She was the youngest of 10 children.
They lived on a farm two miles south of Bayfield. She grew up on this farm milking cows, gathering eggs and helping in the garden. She learned to sew at age five on a treadle machine and became a wonderful seamstress.
She attended school in Bayfield until she was a senior and then moved to Durango where she attended high school and cleaned house in exchange for room and board and piano lessons.
She married Robert Turner on July 12, 1946.
She is survived by two children, Brody Leroy Turner and Glenna Jean Turner Black, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the San Juan Mortuary in Blanding on June 10 and interment was in Ignacio, CO.
