George Edward Barry

October 19, 1965 ~ November 11, 2020

George Edward “Eddie” Barry passed from this world on November 11, 2020 to go home to his Heavenly Father. He was a lifelong resident of Monticello.

Eddie was born in Monticello October 19, 1965 to George Hugh Barry and Lorraine Alice (Priddy) Barry. He was the youngest of four children.

He is survived by his three siblings, Sue (Mike) Fisher of Salt Lake City, Steve (Dana) of Eastland, and Kathy (Craig) Simpson of Blanding.

Eddie worked 27 years for the San Juan County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator and assistant foreman. He loved running equipment.

He loved cowboying and anything cowboy. He also loved music and was very talented. He will be remembered by many for his beautiful voice and guitar playing.

Eddie was able to fulfill one of his dreams by going to Nashville and recording an album. In his later years he preferred singing hymns on Sunday morning and it will be greatly missed.

Eddie and Teresa met in the fifth grade. They were happily married for 37 years. Together they raised three children, Trint (Brittany) Barry (Mason and Morgan) of Monticello, Shilo (Cory) Schultz (Dylan and Aydan) of Dove Creek, and Seantae (David) Campbell (Austin) of Nucla.

Eddie loved his family and cherished his five grandchildren. He loved being a Papa. He was a loving husband, daddy, papa, and friend that will be missed by many.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorraine Barry.

Funeral services for Eddie were held on Tuesday, November 17 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eastland Chapel. Interment followed at Eastland Cemetery.
