Grant Leo Bronson

December 30, 1924~ October 23, 2008

Grant Leo Bronson passed away at 7:50 on Thursday morning, October 23, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

His passing was due to complications from an unfortunate motor vehicle accident nearly six months earlier.

This same accident also eventually took his wife, Colleen, in August of this year.

His passing is considered a blessing by both family and friends. Grant had to endure many trials and hardships after the accident. He spent time in five different hospitals and had a total of eight surgeries. Yet, he seemed to never complain.

Grant was born on December 30, 1924 in Monticello, Utah.

His parents were Fletcher and Eva Bronson. Their families have a long history here in San Juan County.

Grant attended Brigham Young University, where he studied Geology. He was in the 10th Mountain Division in World War II. Grant worked both as a miner and then as a wheat farmer.

Grant loved to be in the outdoors and all wildlife. He was heavily involved in community activities, like the Blue Mountain Ski Resort. Two of his favorite hobbies were prospecting and fishing in Indian Creek.

Grant is survived by his daughter, Tamara; son, Regan; and two grandsons, Dustin and Danny.

Services will be held on Saturday November 1, 2008 in Monticello, Utah.
