Jimmy Joe Pearson


July 20, 1942 ~ June 26, 2012
Jim Pearson, lifelong resident of Monticello, passed away on June 26 from natural causes.
Jim was the third child of R.L. and Ruth Pearson. He was born the July 20, 1942. He had a deep love for Monticello and made many memories there throughout his life.
Jim was a state wrestling champion in Monticello during his high school years, which he was very proud of.
After graduating from high school, he joined the army and was attached to the 101st Airborne Division. He was a paratrooper in Vietnam, where he earned a Purple Heart. Jim was always extremely honored to have served his country.
Following his military service, his major occupation was uranium mining.
Jim loved to garden, fish, and work. He also loved to be in the mountain. Another love of his was horses and raising livestock.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his family Glenis Pearson, Kirk Pearson, Shawn Pearson, Jimmy Ren Pearson, Brandon Pearson, Micki Pearson, Terrel (Cindy) Pearson, and Adri (Ken) Freeman. He is also survived by his sister Betty Pearson and brother, Toby (Barbara) Pearson, along with ten grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held June 29 atthe Monticello North LDS Chapel. He is buried with full military honors in the Monticello Cemetery.
