Joan Elizabeth Richardson Harvey September 3, 1938 ~ March 31, 2025
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Joan Elizabeth Richardson Harvey, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025. She was 86 years old.
Born on September 3, 1938, in Monticello, UT, Joan lived a life of grace, quiet strength, and deep devotion to her family and faith. She had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, always ready with a listening ear, a thoughtful prayer, or a warm smile.
She was married to Julius N Harvey for 60 years, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Their enduring marriage was a legacy of devotion and partnership that blessed generations.
Joan worked for several years at the U.S. Forest Service, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Her time there reflected her love for nature and her commitment to serving her community.
Throughout her life, Joan offered love and care to all around her. Whether serving in her church, raising her children, or simply sitting with a friend in need, she brought peace and light wherever she went.
She is survived by her children: Kenny (Sara), Lee (Ruby), Gene (Ann), Cole (Dixie), Julie (Brian), and Virginia (John), 38 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many other cherished family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Julius N Harvey, and her parents Walter and Rachel Richardson.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Eastland Church in Eastland, UT. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. A graveside dedication will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Eastland.
The family invites all who loved her to gather in celebration of her life, share memories, and honor her legacy of faith, compassion, and quiet strength.
Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now at peace, surrounded by light and love, and reunited with those who went before. Her love will remain in our hearts always.
