Joe Everett Johnson

Joe Everett Johnson, 71, was called home by his sweetheart on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2011 at his home in Richfield.
He was born December 6, 1939 in Globe, AZ to James Derald and Leah Sanders Johnson.
He married Beatrice Lorraine Roberts, July 19, 1961 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She preceded him in death in 2008.
Everett was involved in law enforcement his entire life, including several years in San Juan County, where he served as the Monticello Chief of Police, among other assignments. After his retirement, he operated a private investigation and security business.
He and his wife were long time camp hosts at Fish Lake, they also enjoyed their associations at craft shows. His pride and joy was his family and the outdoors.
He was a scout leader and faithfully fulfilled his church callings. He was an honorable man and a great example to those he came in contact with.
His survivors include his children, Kevin (Stacey) Johnson of Fredonia, AZ; Lisa Johnson of Sigurd; Melinda Tolbert of Provo; Cris (Jimmie) Banks, of Roosevelt; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; mother Leah Johnson of Richfield; and brother Derald Robert (Judy) Johnson of Ft. Collins, CO.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Brian Everett Johnson and his father.
Funeral services were February 18, 2011 in Richfield.
Burial in the Richfield City Cemetery where honors were performed by the Utah Highway Patrol Honor Guard, Richfield City Police and Naples Police and Fire Departments.
