Kristy Harvey Carroll

February 9, 1921 ~ April 10, 2014
Kristy Harvey Carroll was born February 9, 1921, in Blanding, UT, the daughter of Charles Ronald Harvey and Nellie Jane Johnson.
She married Charley Black Carroll on June 1, 1939 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jess Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This union produced six children. Charley tragically died on September 15, 1955.
On August 20, 1958, Kristy was married to Lonnie Orville Stevens in the Salt Lake Temple. This union produced two daughters. Kristy and Lonnie divorced on January 22, 1963.
Kristy was the valedictorian of her 1939 San Juan High School senior class. In addition Kristy worked and retired as an LPN at the San Juan Nursing home in Blanding.
Kristy was active in the LDS Church and worked in the Primary for 30 years and held various other church callings throughout her life, including a stake calling to be a Spanish-language extraction worker.
In addition, Kristy served three full time missions for the church beginning with a proselyting mission in Tempe, Arizona, then in the New Zealand Temple with her sister Stella, and finally a family history mission in Los Angeles, California.
Kristy is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, her husband, son Keith H. Carroll, daughter Kristine Hale and grandson Eldon Carroll.
She is survived by her children Kirk H. (Loretta) Carroll, Kline H. (Dianne) Carroll, Kathleen (Thurman) Hamman, Joseph K. (Becky) Carroll, Virginia (Mark) Boyer, and Valarie (Robert) Turk and her youngest brother Dennis J. (Lorraine) Harvey.
Kristy is also survived by 37 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Kristy died in Blanding on April 10, 2014. Kristy’s funeral was held on April 14, 2014 at the Blanding North LDS Chapel. She was laid to rest on April 14, 2014 in the Blanding Cemetery beside her husband, Charley Black Carroll.
She was the much beloved matriarch of her family. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and support of the community.
