Lorna Bell Merrell Wells

Lorna Bell Merrell Wells, 92, of Idaho Falls, ID passed away April 21, 2011, in Rigby, ID, of causes incident to age.
Lorna was born April 3, 1919, in Apple Valley, ID, to Joseph Merrell and Sarah Delilia Brown Merrell. The family lived on farms in Idaho and Oregon until she was six years old and they moved into town.
She attended Ontario High School. She also lived in Big Lost River, Boise, Salt Lake City, and Salmon before moving to Idaho Falls in 1954.
She married German Ray Wells on September 24, 1937, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. After almost 62 years of marriage, German passed away August 7, 1999.
Lorna was a homemaker and mother, taught piano lessons, and was a cook in the Idaho Falls Temple. She also worked as a cashier, waitress and clerk.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lorna served as Relief Society and Young Women President, Relief Society, Primary and Singing Mothers organist, and Relief Society Visiting Teaching Coordinator. She and her husband served a full-time mission starting in Ventura, CA, and finishing in San Bernardino, CA. They also served a two year stake mission.
She enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, sewing, reading, gardening, and helping people.
Lorna is survived by sons Larry (Karen) Wells of Monticello, UT, Loren (Sharon, deceased) Wells of Ajo, AZ; daughters Mary (Max) Merritt of Afton, WY, Evelyn (Bruce) Talbot of South Jordan, UT, Lorna Jean Wells of Soda Springs, ID; brother Avon Darrel Merrell of Vale, OR; 28 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Carolyn Deleva Martinez, three sisters; three brothers, and five grandchildren.
