Mark Stuart Lyman October 24, 1962 ~ September 9, 2023
Mark Stuart Lyman passed away of natural causes at his home in Monticello at the age of 60.
Mark was born at San Juan Hospital in Monticello on October 24, 1962 to James Stuart and Neva Rae Edwards Lyman.
He spent his young life roaming around the red rocks of Canyonlands. As a young adult he lived North of the Yukon River in Alaska where he learned to trap, hunt, and fish to his heart’s content.
Mark graduated with a GED through the State of Alaska and took vocational classes at the community college. He became a respected operating engineer and skilled heavy equipment mechanic, with a specialty as a lineborer.
After a short first marriage, he fell in love with a lifelong friend Judy Keeble. They found companionship, and shared love and devotion with each other for over 20 years. Mark dearly loved Judy’s cooking and sense of humor.
An outdoor enthusiast, Mark enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, and traveling, especially to Mexico. Around 2010 Mark returned home to his birthplace in Monticello after spending 35 years of life in Alaska.
Mark is preceded in death by his younger brother Michael Edwards Lyman who passed away in 2007 and his best friend, Judy Keeble, in 2017.
Mark is survived by his loving parents Jim and Neva Lyman, sister Kesa Lyman Hurst, sister Kori Lyman Hatch, and his pint-sized partner in crime Bandit, his Yorkshire Terrier dog.
We love and miss you Mark, until we meet again!
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 165 South Main Street in Monticello.
